Situated in the heart of Amsterdam, Hoopman Schildersbenodigheden (Hoopman Fine Arts Supplies) is one of the oldest art supply stores in The Netherlands.
The shop is now run by the daughter and son in law of Jan Hoopman who started preparing his first canvases some forty years ago. This led him to develop the expertise necessary to become the provider of high quality artist’s canvas to painters throughout The Netherlands.
To this day his expertise is used when stretching canvas at Hoopman's.
However, although we offer more than 20 different types of canvas, primed and non-primed, that is only a part of what we supply. In addition to being one of the most cosy shops in Amsterdam we have a very large selection of paints, brushes, frames, primers, mediums, pigments, papers, drawing materials etc. Furthermore, we cut passepartouts, frame your artworks and stretch prints and paintings.
